The “Scrub” Method: Instead of just painting the base on, use the brush to “scrub” or massage the gel into the nail plate. This ensures the gel gets into the microscopic grooves of the nail for a tighter bond.
Avoid the Skin: If the base coat touches your cuticle or sidewall (even a tiny bit), the entire nail will lift as it grows out. Always leave a tiny “hairline” gap between the gel and your skin.
Thin is In: A base coat should be very thin. If it’s too thick, it may not cure properly in your UV lamp, leading to “wet spots” under your polish.
The Tacky Layer: After curing, the base coat will feel sticky. This is intentional! Do not wipe it off. This “inhibition layer” is what the color polish grabs onto.
